Our Flag was still There

Guest Author: Jerry Lucas

GAVE PROOF THRO’ THE NIGHT THAT OUR FLAG WAS STILL THERE

If you are reading this you are part of the resistance.

For many of you might know these words and what they mean. For some they are just words to a song we learned while in school but, do you know the real history behind these words. These words written in action after the bombardment of Fort McHenry by Francis Scott Key in the year 1814 gave hope to many that opposed the war of 1812. A lot do not know that in this very war on August 25, 1814 that the British under General Ross marched into the capital city almost unopposed and burned to the ground, then the war became personal to most new Americans at that time.

Francis Key said "I saw the flag of my country waving over a city--the strength and pride of my native State--a city devoted to plunder and desolation by its assailants. I witnessed the preparations for its assaults. I saw the array of its enemies as they advanced to the attack. I heard the sound of battle; the noise of conflict fell upon my listening ear, and told me that 'the brave and the free' had met the invaders."

Can you see the flag today? Can we understand the pride that Mr. Key must have had that on this day after all the hell he had seen that our flag was still there? In our world of today we speak as many people not of one nation. Our flag has been used by some in their freedom of speech as a door mat. It has been burned and spit on. It has been flown lower than other countries flags right here at home yet can you not still see it.

Our flag has been placed on many shores by men and women that have served our country with honor. The Marines have hosted this cloth of stars and strips on hill under hostile conditions and for what. The men and women of our country that go into harms way wear this flag on their shoulder to say yes we are Americans yet can we still see it on high. The men and women that have served this country have always stopped and given respect to this our countries flag because they know as I do that some day they may pay the price for it to fly.

We have many problems in our country and we are not the people of our government, no we are no more to them than those that pay the rent. That we strive to support our families and make better our country does not matter. Is the air clearing now? Is the dawn here? I cannot understand why our government feels that it has the right to make us accept that those in power understand what life is like for you and me. That the greater cause now is to see if the flag is still there, that after all the cold nights and all that has come to past can we now take back what was give onto us not to our government. Can we turn back the fight within us, about us and show that yes our flag is still there. I look to the shore as the light comes on is it still there? I feel the breeze on my back yes, I think I see it. Wait there is some one there is it yes I think it is you holding that standard high for all to see. I see another to your left and yet another to your right. What a feeling it must have been to see the flag flying high as to say we are here to stay.

Now let’s fight for the real America, you have to know the real truth that we can make a real vote without all the crap from the media or parties without all the money and the hoopla. Let us find real people that live in our world to give us the real voice in this government. Take back what is ours or please just give me the chance to hold the flag. Some would say take out the drama and let’s get real. Do you feel that we have done a good job to this point? Or do you feel good about what can happen when you remember your past.

Long live the fighter

So I ask you my fellow American to join me in the fight at “I am the resistance 2010” I ask that you think about what we can do with our vote and why it was so important that we had been given it. That we make one loud and clear stand and write in the vote or look to the outside of the parties for a real person some one that will take the job not because of power, but because it is the right thing to do. Sometimes it only takes one person to change the world in which we live. Please do not allow the real dream of this nation to be laid to rest without a real fight. Find people tell others and write in your vote. The message we send will tell the world that we are one country that believes in the people not the government.

Petition for a Redress of Grievances

Guest Author: Patrick Samuels

When in the course of the history of a nation, the government of that nation repudiates its duty to protect the God given rights and liberties of the people and instead evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, a decent respect for the history of that nation and the rule of law requires that they detail their grievances. The Constitution of the these United States declares that “Congress shall make no law...abridging...the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” The people have peaceably assembled to voice their displeasure over the course this government has taken, and continue to do so. Those objections have been ignored, derided and met with repeated injury. Such actions demonstrate this government’s resolute intention to establish an absolute tyranny over the people. Therefore, we the people are resolved to resist these intentions and are now formally petitioning our government for a redress of our grievances. To accomplish this, let the following be submitted to the Congress and laid before the people.

The national government, through word, law, and regulation, has made war on the free market system, private property and individual liberty, that have historically been the foundation of this nation and responsible for its strength and prosperity.

The congress has voluntarily relinquished its responsibility for drafting or even reviewing the legislation it passes, outsourcing the legislative process to special interest groups that have agendas often at odds with the well being of the citizens and the nation as a whole.

The congress has routinely written laws in ways that are unclear, or obscure their true intent, leaving their interpretation open to a variety of abuses, removing the protection of the law and exposing us to the tyranny of men.

The national government has refused to assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good, and has substituted laws and regulations that are injurious to the welfare and prosperity of the people.

The national government has burdened us with debts and obligations far beyond our ability to repay.

The members of congress and the administration have refused to be held accountable for illegal and criminal actions, setting themselves above the laws they have imposed upon the people.

The national government has multiplied departments and offices with the complicity or negligent consent of congress and has allowed these offices to compound statutes and regulations that have the force of law with no input from the representatives of the people and no opportunity for redress. These new offices have done little more than send swarms of new officials to harass the people and eat their substance.

The national government has refused to secure the borders of the United States from those who desire to do injury to its citizens and institutions.

The national government is seeking to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution and unacknowledged by our laws and traditions. Through treaties and obligations to the United Nations, it has sought to undermine the sovereignty of the citizens of this nation, and in so doing place us under an authority wholly unaccountable to us.

The national government has sought to bring suit against those whose duty it is to protect us from foreign invasion and attack, trying them for acts not criminal under previous administrations nor according to the dictates of common sense.

The national government has used and misused the military forces of the United States, imposing rules and regulations upon them detrimental to their stated mission and purpose. Such actions unnecessarily jeopardize the lives of those who serve in the armed forces and emboldens the enemies that desire to do us harm.

The executive branch has embarked upon a course of foreign policy that serves only to anger our staunchest allies and strengthen our enemies. It has also long pursued a course of action that has placed the acquisition of our most crucial resources dependent upon the whims of our enemies while unnecessarily restricting the development of those same resources domestically.

The national government has infringed on our right to adequately protect ourselves as we see fit as guaranteed under the second amendment to the Constitution.

The national government has forbidden the governors and legislators of the many states discretion in their affairs and has imposed burdensome regulations upon them while refusing to provide the means for their implementation.

The national government has by law codified discrimination, setting one class of citizens over another, when the other has been responsible for no wrong or injury to the privileged class.

The national government, through word and statute, has shown contempt for the religious tradition largely responsible for the foundations of this nation and its system of law and justice, and embraced by the vast majority of its citizens, while supporting or granting privileged status to religious traditions that lead to the degradation of society or seek to inflict physical harm upon the people and their institutions.

The national government, through regulation and statute, has made continual efforts to dilute the cohesive nature of our common language and culture.

The national government through legislation, treaty and judicial fiat, has continually eroded the privileges and responsibilities inherent within the family, seeking to substitute itself as the primary educator and caregiver of succeeding generations.

The national government has used the courts to impose upon its citizens policy they would never have agreed to through their elected representatives. Those same courts have nullified referendum legitimately passed by the people of the states in their effort to reestablish some degree of control over their various destinies.

The national government had abrogated its responsibility for monetary policy, entrusting it to unelected officers, and has cooperated with their institution, adopting policies that will lead to the destruction of the national currency.

The national government has imposed a system of taxation that is inherently unjust, placing heavy burdens on some while exempting others. Coupled with this system is a structure of subsidy in which wealth is taken from one citizen and given to another. Such a system destroys the motivation for productive enterprise within the one who is forced to give and the recipient.

The national government has imposed a code of taxation of such complexity it perplexes even those whose are tasked with its enforcement, and provides an easy pretext for the government to find wrongdoing among its citizens.

The national government has abused its taxing authority, requiring payment not only for privileged endeavors but for the exercise of our fundamental rights, reducing us to mere servitude.

The national government has intimidated and coerced private businesses and financial institutions into accepting regulation and domination by the national government.

The national parties, in order to maintain their power, have used the law, intimidation and outright fraud to ensure their continual appointment, making a mockery of the electoral process.

The executive branch, without the required consent of the legislature, has taken upon itself the power to make war and peace, suspend at times the right of habeas corpus, utilize the treasury and impose regulations and orders with the force and penalty of law.

The national government has detained and murdered its citizens without due process or just compensation for the exercise of their rights under the compact of the Constitution or as a consequence of their ancestry.

The national government has appropriated for itself the power to confiscate the property of its citizens for any use whatsoever, without just compensation.

The national government has made repeated attempts to intimidate those who oppose its growing power through the exercise of their rights under the Constitution. It has labeled them traitors and has sought to use the power of the government and its various agencies to silence them.

A government which demonstrates consistent attempts to extend unwarrantable jurisdiction over the people, ignores the limitations imposed by its founding documents and whose every word and action exhibit their tyranny is unsuitable for a free people. With this petition, we the people urge this government to return to its constitutional limitations and exhibit proper behavior and good will toward its citizens. It is our sincere desire not to continue and escalate an adversarial relationship with our government. We merely wish your cooperation in securing our freedom, prosperity and a restoration of our great Republic.

Jimmy Padgett's letter to Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN)

Senator Bayh,

I am mad as hell; there is just no other way to express my feelings other than mad as hell.  Troubled greatly, severely aggravated, or enormously disappointed do not begin to cover the emotions I am experiencing because of your Presidents action on the Health Care Reform Bill.  Does he only represent the unions of the United States?  He is thumbing his nose at 87% of the US citizens!  What about you, are you going to be lock step with your President again on Health Care?  How can you even think about voting for a bill that unfairly taxes some of the citizens of this State, this Country, and exempts others?

Your President is the most corrupt, most lawless Administration this country has ever had the misery of having to endure.  He is married to organized labor, which is just another name for organized crime, and has brought the Chicago thug, and leg breaker mentality to the White house.  What are you doing to stop this?  Nothing, you are rolling over like a trained seal!

Do you people in Washington not listen to “We the People” anymore?  Citizens everywhere are mad, and they are taking action.  We are tired of your type of leadership, spending money on junk, you all are worse than little children at a carnival.  Giving away millions in entitlements, entitling millions of people to take a ride on hard working taxpayers, you all should be ashamed, but that would require morals, and a conscious.

Your President is undermining the American way, ways that have served us well for over two hundred years.  America is not perfect, but we are striving to be better, but and others like you are destroying us in your effort to save us.  We are a Christian Nation, but you people in Washington and the judges that you appoint are taking away our freedom to speak of our faith.  Little by little you are taking many of our freedoms, leave us alone!  Our freedom comes from the Constitution, and not from our elected officials.  The powers of your office is given by the Constitution, don’t over step those powers.  We the People are waking up and you will see the power the Constitution gives us soon!

I will be praying for you, and waiting for you to make a stand for Indiana and America!
Jimmy Padgett

CFCN President Responds to yet another Tribune Letter

Jason Higdon - CFCN President

Here is the link to read this outrageous Letter to the Editor which appeared in Saturday, January 16, 2010's New Albany Tribune

http://www.newsandtribune.com/letters/local_story_016020310.html

What follows is the letter I emailed the editor in response:

Wolfe, like most of the Left, has it backwards

I just cannot let Ms. Ruthanne Wolfe's letter about the GOP go unchallenged. First, the use of a filibuster is a legislative tool of Congress that has been used by both the Left and the Right throughout the history of our democratic republic. The GOP is trying to stop a socialistic health care plan from fundamentally transforming our republic where for the first time, our citizens will be required by law to purchase something (And before anyone begins to say Auto Insurance, a person is not forced to purchase Auto Insurance because a person is not forced to drive a vehicle. There are bicycles, motorized scooters, buses, trains, trolleys, streetcars, subways, and good old fashioned walking which are all alternatives to driving a vehicle.)

I applaud the GOP's stands against the appointments of the Obama Administration and if anything, the GOP should have made more objections to the people President Obama has appointed to key positions. Just a quick look at a few of these advisors will make anyone with common sense shudder. Anthony "Van" Jones was a self-avowed Communist and defender of a Cop Killer and he was appointed to be the Green Jobs Advisor. Thankfully, Jones resigned after being pressured by true patriots who called him out on his outlandish views. FCC Diversity Czar, Mark Lloyd openly admires Hugo Chavez and believes The Fairness Doctrine "didn't go far enough" to circumvent the Freedom of Speech. Regulatory Czar Dr. Cass Sunstein actually wrote an opinion that dogs and cats should actually have the right to have representative council and bring suit in the court system. Former Communications Director Anita Dunn went on record praising Chinese Dictator Mao as "one of the people she turns to most." And before the arguments come out about these comments being a "smear campaign", these statements are straight from the aforementioned people's mouths and writings.

As far as Ms. Wolfe's reference to VP Dick Cheney's "secret energy taskforce" and transparency, VP Cheney never went around championing transparency and promising to broadcast all congressional negotiations on C-SPAN as then-Candidate Obama did.

Finally, Ms. Wolfe charges the GOP as "starting two wars" which is an outrageous and totally false claim. The war in Afghanistan was started when Arab Islamic Extremist males boarded four airplanes, cut the throats of at least eight pilots, and crashed three airplanes into three buildings murdering thousands of innocent Americans in New York, Washington, and Shanksville. And as I recall, the vote in the Senate on Joint Resolution 23 (S.J. Res. 23 of 107th Congress) on September 14, 2001 was 98-0 with 2 abstained, which means both sides of the aisle voted to go to war and hunt down those responsible for 9/11.

However, I do agree with Ms. Wolfe that America is in need of being fixed, but straying away from our Constitution is the last thing our government needs to be doing. We must revert back to the Constitution and the principles of our founders which were smaller government, fiscal responsibility, and the rights of the individual states as laid out in the Tenth Amendment.
