For some they are just words to a song we learned while in school but, do you know the real history behind these words. These words written in action after the bombardment of Fort &lt;span class="goog-spellcheck-word"&gt;McHenry&lt;/span&gt; by Francis Scott Key in the year 1814 gave hope to many that opposed the war of 1812. A lot do not know that in this very war on August 25, 1814 that the British under General Ross marched into the capital city almost unopposed and burned to the ground, then the war became personal to most new Americans at that time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Francis Key said "I saw the flag of my country waving over a city--the strength and pride of my native State--a city devoted to plunder and desolation by its assailants. I witnessed the preparations for its assaults. I saw the array of its enemies as they advanced to the attack. I heard the sound of battle; the noise of conflict fell upon my listening ear, and told me that 'the brave and the free' had met the invaders."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Can you see the flag today? Can we understand the pride that Mr. Key must have had that on this day after all the hell he had seen that our flag was still there? In our world of today we speak as many people not of one nation. Our flag has been used by some in their freedom of speech as a door mat. It has been burned and spit on. It has been flown lower than other countries flags right here at home yet can you not still see it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Our flag has been placed on many shores by men and women that have served our country with honor. The Marines have hosted this cloth of stars and strips on hill under hostile conditions and for what. The men and women of our country that go into harms way wear this flag on their shoulder to say yes we are Americans yet can we still see it on high. The men and women that have served this country have always stopped and given respect to this our countries flag because they know as I do that some day they may pay the price for it to fly. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We have many problems in our country and we are not the people of our government, no we are no more to them than those that pay the rent. That we strive to support our families and make better our country does not matter. Is the air clearing now? Is the dawn here? I cannot understand why our government feels that it has the right to make us accept that those in power understand what life is like for you and me. That the greater cause now is to see if the flag is still there, that after all the cold nights and all that has come to past can we now take back what was give onto us not to our government. Can we turn back the fight within us, about us and show that yes our flag is still there. I look to the shore as the light comes on is it still there? I feel the breeze on my back yes, I think I see it. Wait there is some one there is it yes I think it is you holding that standard high for all to see. I see another to your left and yet another to your right. What a feeling it must have been to see the flag flying high as to say we are here to stay.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now let’s fight for the real America, you have to know the real truth that we can make a real vote without all the crap from the media or parties without all the money and the hoopla. Let us find real people that live in our world to give us the real voice in this government. Take back what is ours or please just give me the chance to hold the flag. Some would say take out the drama and let’s get real. Do you feel that we have done a good job to this point? Or do you feel good about what can happen when you remember your past. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Long live the fighter &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I ask you my fellow American to join me in the fight at “I am the resistance 2010” I ask that you think about what we can do with our vote and why it was so important that we had been given it. That we make one loud and clear stand and write in the vote or look to the outside of the parties for a real person some one that will take the job not because of power, but because it is the right thing to do. Sometimes it only takes one person to change the world in which we live. Please do not allow the real dream of this nation to be laid to rest without a real fight. Find people tell others and write in your vote. The Constitution of the these United States declares that “Congress shall make no law...abridging...the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” The people have peaceably assembled to voice their displeasure over the course this government has taken, and continue to do so. Those objections have been ignored, derided and met with repeated injury. Such actions demonstrate this government’s resolute intention to establish an absolute tyranny over the people. Therefore, we the people are resolved to resist these intentions and are now formally petitioning our government for a redress of our grievances. To accomplish this, let the following be submitted to the Congress and laid before the people. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government, through word, law, and regulation, has made war on the free market system, private property and individual liberty, that have historically been the foundation of this nation and responsible for its strength and prosperity. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The congress has voluntarily relinquished its responsibility for drafting or even reviewing the legislation it passes, outsourcing the legislative process to special interest groups that have agendas often at odds with the well being of the citizens and the nation as a whole.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The congress has routinely written laws in ways that are unclear, or obscure their true intent, leaving their interpretation open to a variety of abuses, removing the protection of the law and exposing us to the tyranny of men. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has refused to assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good, and has substituted laws and regulations that are injurious to the welfare and prosperity of the people.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has burdened us with debts and obligations far beyond our ability to repay.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The members of congress and the administration have refused to be held accountable for illegal and criminal actions, setting themselves above the laws they have imposed upon the people. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has multiplied departments and offices with the complicity or negligent consent of congress and has allowed these offices to compound statutes and regulations that have the force of law with no input from the representatives of the people and no opportunity for redress. These new offices have done little more than send swarms of new officials to harass the people and eat their substance.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has refused to secure the borders of the United States from those who desire to do injury to its citizens and institutions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government is seeking to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution and unacknowledged by our laws and traditions. Through treaties and obligations to the United Nations, it has sought to undermine the sovereignty of the citizens of this nation, and in so doing place us under an authority wholly unaccountable to us.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has sought to bring suit against those whose duty it is to protect us from foreign invasion and attack, trying them for acts not criminal under previous administrations nor according to the dictates of common sense. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has used and misused the military forces of the United States, imposing rules and regulations upon them detrimental to their stated mission and purpose. Such actions unnecessarily jeopardize the lives of those who serve in the armed forces and emboldens the enemies that desire to do us harm.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The executive branch has embarked upon a course of foreign policy that serves only to anger our staunchest allies and strengthen our enemies. It has also long pursued a course of action that has placed the acquisition of our most crucial resources dependent upon the whims of our enemies while unnecessarily restricting the development of those same resources domestically. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has infringed on our right to adequately protect ourselves as we see fit as guaranteed under the second amendment to the Constitution.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has forbidden the governors and legislators of the many states discretion in their affairs and has imposed burdensome regulations upon them while refusing to provide the means for their implementation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has by law codified discrimination, setting one class of citizens over another, when the other has been responsible for no wrong or injury to the privileged class.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government, through word and statute, has shown contempt for the religious tradition largely responsible for the foundations of this nation and its system of law and justice, and embraced by the vast majority of its citizens, while supporting or granting privileged status to religious traditions that lead to the degradation of society or seek to inflict physical harm upon the people and their institutions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government, through regulation and statute, has made continual efforts to dilute the cohesive nature of our common language and culture.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government through legislation, treaty and judicial fiat, has continually eroded the privileges and responsibilities inherent within the family, seeking to substitute itself as the primary educator and caregiver of succeeding generations.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has used the courts to impose upon its citizens policy they would never have agreed to through their elected representatives. Those same courts have nullified referendum legitimately passed by the people of the states in their effort to reestablish some degree of control over their various destinies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government had abrogated its responsibility for monetary policy, entrusting it to unelected officers, and has cooperated with their institution, adopting policies that will lead to the destruction of the national currency.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has imposed a system of taxation that is inherently unjust, placing heavy burdens on some while exempting others. Coupled with this system is a structure of subsidy in which wealth is taken from one citizen and given to another. Such a system destroys the motivation for productive enterprise within the one who is forced to give and the recipient.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has imposed a code of taxation of such complexity it perplexes even those whose are tasked with its enforcement, and provides an easy pretext for the government to find wrongdoing among its citizens.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has abused its taxing authority, requiring payment not only for privileged endeavors but for the exercise of our fundamental rights, reducing us to mere servitude.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has intimidated and coerced private businesses and financial institutions into accepting regulation and domination by the national government.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national parties, in order to maintain their power, have used the law, intimidation and outright fraud to ensure their continual appointment, making a mockery of the electoral process. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The executive branch, without the required consent of the legislature, has taken upon itself the power to make war and peace, suspend at times the right of &lt;span class="goog-spellcheck-word"&gt;habeas&lt;/span&gt; corpus, utilize the treasury and impose regulations and orders with the force and penalty of law. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has detained and murdered its citizens without due process or just compensation for the exercise of their rights under the compact of the Constitution or as a consequence of their ancestry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has appropriated for itself the power to confiscate the property of its citizens for any use whatsoever, without just compensation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The national government has made repeated attempts to intimidate those who oppose its growing power through the exercise of their rights under the Constitution. It has labeled them traitors and has sought to use the power of the government and its various agencies to silence them. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A government which demonstrates consistent attempts to extend unwarrantable jurisdiction over the people, ignores the limitations imposed by its founding documents and whose every word and action exhibit their tyranny is unsuitable for a free people. With this petition, we the people urge this government to return to its constitutional limitations and exhibit proper behavior and good will toward its citizens. It is our sincere desire not to continue and escalate an adversarial relationship with our government. First, the use of a filibuster is a legislative tool of Congress that has been used by both the Left and the Right throughout the history of our democratic republic. The GOP is trying to stop a socialistic health care plan from fundamentally transforming our republic where for the first time, our citizens will be required by law to purchase something (And before anyone begins to say Auto Insurance, a person is not forced to purchase Auto Insurance because a person is not forced to drive a vehicle. There are bicycles, motorized scooters, buses, trains, trolleys, streetcars, subways, and good old fashioned walking which are all alternatives to driving a vehicle.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I applaud the GOP's stands against the appointments of the Obama Administration and if anything, the GOP should have made more objections to the people President Obama has appointed to key positions. Just a quick look at a few of these advisors will make anyone with common sense shudder. Anthony "Van" Jones was a self-avowed Communist and defender of a Cop Killer and he was appointed to be the Green Jobs Advisor. Thankfully, Jones resigned after being pressured by true patriots who called him out on his outlandish views. FCC Diversity Czar, Mark Lloyd openly admires Hugo Chavez and believes The Fairness Doctrine "didn't go far enough" to circumvent the Freedom of Speech. Regulatory Czar Dr. Cass Sunstein actually wrote an opinion that dogs and cats should actually have the right to have representative council and bring suit in the court system. Former Communications Director Anita Dunn went on record praising Chinese Dictator Mao as "one of the people she turns to most." And before the arguments come out about these comments being a "smear campaign", these statements are straight from the aforementioned people's mouths and writings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As far as Ms. Wolfe's reference to VP Dick Cheney's "secret energy taskforce" and transparency, VP Cheney never went around championing transparency and promising to broadcast all congressional negotiations on C-SPAN as then-Candidate Obama did.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Finally, Ms. Wolfe charges the GOP as "starting two wars" which is an outrageous and totally false claim. The war in Afghanistan was started when Arab Islamic Extremist males boarded four airplanes, cut the throats of at least eight pilots, and crashed three airplanes into three buildings murdering thousands of innocent Americans in New York, Washington, and Shanksville. And as I recall, the vote in the Senate on Joint Resolution 23 (S.J. Res. 23 of 107th Congress) on September 14, 2001 was 98-0 with 2 abstained, which means both sides of the aisle voted to go to war and hunt down those responsible for 9/11.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, I do agree with Ms. Wolfe that America is in need of being fixed, but straying away from our Constitution is the last thing our government needs to be doing. It gives me hope for our country when I see all of you here standing up for America. I am Jason Higdon, and like many of you, I am just an ordinary person who has decided to get off the couch and try to save our Republic. I went from uninvolved to founding Citizens for Constitutionality Now, a grass-roots organization aimed at restoring our Republic to follow the rules and rights laid out in the Constitution, which so many in Washington D.C. seem to have forgotten.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Today, I want to talk to you about what it is we are all doing here. We are practicing our First Amendment rights. I want all of you to try now and think back to 1700’s America. Before James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and our other Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution; before the battles of Lexington, Concorde, and Yorktown. Every single one of us here would be committing High Treason. There would be men wearing red coats and wielding muskets surrounding us, waiting to march us to the gallows and hang us all one by one. That is the level the British Crown went to censor its subjects. After defeating England, our Framers of the Constitution had the foresight to realize the “silent majority” should not hide in the back room of a tavern and speak with fear of oppression for their thoughts and opinions. Our First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America says, “Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” Of all the amendments and rights given to us in this great nation, the First Amendment sets the foundation under which all other rights stand firmly. The First Amendment is the defining set of rights which gives this nation its identity, and it is the amendment which must be protected at all costs because without these freedoms, America as we know it would cease to exist.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The first freedom set forth in the First Amendment is the freedom of religion which tells us we may worship any god, go to any church, mosque, or synagogue, practice any religion we choose to practice, or choose to believe in no god at all. Although our country was founded upon Judeo-Christian beliefs, and our Founding Fathers were God-fearing men, they knew religious freedom was a key part in creating a nation of truly free people. Today, more than ever, liberal organizations are fighting to tear down any public symbol of religion such as taking The Ten Commandments down from courthouse walls, attempting to remove the words “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance, and recent attempts to remove crosses and the Star of David from tombstones of soldiers in national cemeteries. These organizations are using the excuse that these symbols and words offend people by not being politically correct. Nowhere in the First Amendment or anywhere in the Constitution are were given the freedom from being offended. Now, I understand and support the reasoning behind the separation of church and state, but why fight so hard to remove symbols of the ideology this country was founded upon? Because the more you remove religion from public view, the easier it is to legislate without moral guidance and principles.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Of all the principles that separate the United States from the rest of the world is the next right given to us in the First Amendment: The Freedom of Speech. Frederick Douglass said, “Liberty is meaningless where the right to utter one’s thoughts and opinions has ceased to exist. That of all rights is the dread of tyrants. It is the right which they first of all strike down.” Without the Freedom of Speech, our government would be able to control us beyond any of our imaginations. In the Communist Soviet Union, Gulags were political prisons in which people who spoke out against the government were imprisoned, without trial, often for the rest of their life. Well that was Russia, you may be thinking. That would never happen here in America. Except it has in fact happened here in America. During the Woodrow Wilson Administration, thousands of Americans were imprisoned for speaking out against American involvement in WWI. And our leaders today are laying the ground work for taking away our Freedom of Speech. President Barack Obama has appointed radical socialists, Marxists, and communists throughout all channels of government. Mark Lloyd, the new FCC Diversity Czar, has made statements supporting the suppression of free speech such as “…the Fairness Doctrine didn’t go far enough.” We also have a push for Net Neutrality and the government providing high-speed internet access for everyone. If the government has control over internet access, it will only be a matter of time before government can control content as well. And the internet is the last true venue of free speech left in America. All of these attacks on Freedom of Speech prove one thing: people in Washington D.C. are hearing us, and they don’t like what we have to say.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Hand in hand with the attack on free speech is our government’s attack on the next right guaranteed by the First Amendment: Freedom of the Press. When our Founders were still under English rule, all newspapers, pamphlets, and written materials were censored by representatives of the King. If material was circulated speaking against the Crown, those responsible would be hanged. This oppression of the written word led to numerous letters and pamphlets penned anonymously or by pseudonym such as Benjamin Franklins “Silence Dogood Letters” or Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense.” In a response, King George imposed taxes such as The Stamp Act of 1765 in a last-ditch effort to make it harder to obtain printing materials. King George, along with tyrants throughout history from Julius Caesar to Mao Tse Dong knew that if you control the media, you control the people. Today, our White House Administration has their claws so tightly grasped around the so-called mainstream media that many Americans have not been able to see what is truly happening to this country. Going back to FCC Diversity Czar Mark Lloyd, he has the opinion that Hugo Chavez’s revolution in Venezuela was a great example of how control of content in the media can bring about change. Another attack on the Freedom of the Press came when President Obama chose to appear on Sunday morning news programs on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and Univision, totally eliminating FOX from his lineup. President Obama skirted the Freedom of the Press by using the omission of FOX News as a means of censoring the interviews he gave that Sunday. Another form of media is the Newspaper Industry, and across the nation, newspapers are struggling financially. The Obama Administration has recently commented on the idea of bailing out the newspapers. If we allow a government bail-out of the newspaper industry, we will have a state-controlled media not unlike Nazi Germany or Communist China. Tough questions and bold journalism must be protected in order to preserve a truly free press.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span lang="EN"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; In their vision of a free nation, our Founders guaranteed the right of the people to peaceable assemble as well in the First Amendment. This freedom is what all of us here are practicing today. This Tea Party Movement could not exist without this right to assemble. Liberal news commentators, progressive politicians, and liberal entertainers such as Bill Mahr and Janine Garofalo have insulted and verbally attacked the Tea Party goers and the movement itself. We have been classified as violent, hateful, racist rednecks by the liberals. Now, I do not embody any of these characteristics, and I don’t believe any of us here today do as well. Speaker Nancy Pelosi almost came to tears comparing the Tea Party goers to the violent, murdering, anti-homosexual criminals of 1970’s California. All of this rhetoric about the Tea Parties and the right to assemble is an attempt by the Progressives in power to shut down the voice of their opposition. Although we still have the right to peaceably assemble, regulations and red tape certainly do not make it easy to practice. At some political events, for both left and right politicians and candidates, the right to assemble has been stepped on by the creation of so-called “Free Speech Zones” which put protestors blocks away from the event. Just to have this peaceful protest, Norman Dennison had to reserve this location, apply for permits, and purchase event insurance. Despite all the hoops we must jump through to peaceably assemble, we still find a way to be true patriots and ambassadors of the Constitution.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The final freedom granted in the First Amendment is the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances. This freedom gives us all the right to tell our elected officials what we think about their performance doing the job we elected them to do. This is a right many elected members of our government have forgotten. Take 9&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt; District Representative Baron Hill and his now-infamous words when he said, “This is my town hall meeting and I set the rules. And you are not going to tell me how to run my Congressional Office.” In essence, Baron Hill said we as his constituents cannot petition him to redress the grievances we have with our representation. We have the right and even more so the duty to tell our elected officials on all levels from a county sheriff to the President of the United States when we take issue with their corruption and style of governing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; So what can we do to protect our First Amendment and all of our rights from corrupt politicians on all levels? Well, all of us here have taken the first step and gotten off the couch. Next, we must become more involved. Run for a local office, state office, or national office. Write letters to your newspaper, or do what I did and form a group of like-minded individuals. Because with corruption running rampant in local and national government, it is the duty of every American to stand up for the rights given to us in the Constitution of the United States of America. Of all the freedoms we have, the five freedoms of the First Amendment are the very heart of what it means to be an American Citizen. Without our First Amendment rights, we the people would be a host of mindless pawns in the hands of a corrupt government. The Progressives in Washington would have no opposition to the outrageous spending, growth of government, and the ramming through of legislation at break-neck speeds. It is our solemn responsibility to defend the First Amendment, and not with canon, musket, or bayonet, but with the one weapon in which government must be made to fear once again: our votes. Call, write, email your senator or representative and tell them to earn your vote every single day, not just one day in November. Demand of them to be your advocate on the floor of the House or the Senate by protecting at all costs the freedoms of the First Amendment. Speak without fear and fight for the Constitution and our Founding Fathers because they fought and sacrificed so much in order for all of us to gather here today. Tell the corrupt members of our government that you will not go quietly into the night and become a silent follower of their socialist agenda. Do not be afraid because our First Amendment gives us the protection to speak without fear. As Thomas Jefferson said, “When the people fear the Government, there is tyranny. I spoke at the Corydon Tea Party about our First Amendment. This was such a moving experience for me to see my fellow statesmen standing up in the face of tyranny. I really felt as if I was taking part in something that may play a role in redefining this great republic we live in. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In front of a crowd estimated to be between 550 and 600 people, many of my fellow Hoosiers took to the stage and spoke about various issues. We had doctors, a state official, former Congressman Mike Sodrel, and just everyday folk like Norman Dennison and myself getting up and speaking out about the corruption that has engulfed our beloved nation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Courier-Journal, WAVE 3, and FOX 41 were there to cover the event. I was disappointed but not surprised to learn The New Albany Tribune did not send someone to cover the event even after I notified them well in advance about the details. For some reason, they have a penchant for poking fun and downplaying the admiration and reverence some of us hold for our Founding Fathers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was awe-inspiring to see so many people from all walks of life standing together for common beliefs. It gives me great hope and inspiration for our nation when so many people can pack the little town square in Corydon, Indiana and exercise our Constitutional right of peaceful assembly. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As soon as I can get the technical aspects figured out, I will post the video of my speech on this website and Youtube.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And a special note to the state-controlled liberal media: There were no arrests made at this event. There were no reports of gunshots or violence. There were no heaps of trash left behind. No cars were overturned and set ablaze by an unruly mob. So in the face of all the lost jobs, housing market collapse, the economic recession, and the health care debate, our House has decided they can get their jobs done in only three days a week.&amp;nbsp; So if they are working less days, one would think they would get down to brass tacks and legislate important issues.&amp;nbsp; I cannot be the only one that has this opinion.&amp;nbsp; So why in the world would the House waste valuable legislation time on recognizing Confucius' 2,650th birthday?!&amp;nbsp; This act required a tax stamp be placed on all printed materials and paper used throughout the colonies. The Stamp Act was met with great opposition by the American Colonists as protests, petitions to the King of England and Parliament, and the formation of the Stamp Act Congress (the first true collective effort by the colonists to act against a British policy) followed. The Stamp Act also spurred the creation of the original "grass-roots" movement as colonists joined from all over the colonies in loose groups of landowners and merchants to choreograph protests and demonstrations. Groups such as the Sons of Liberty also used violent and destructive tactics to protest the Stamp Act. Ultimately, the Stamp Act can be seen as one of the final straws that broke the colonists' backs and thrust the seeds of revolution more firmly into the ground. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How eerily similar this reflects the current situation in America with the great debate on healthcare and massive outrage against government spending, bail-outs, and the size of government expanding. Taking the above summary of the Stamp Act and replacing some key words would make the summary&amp;nbsp;read as a current newspaper article. Is the current White House Administration and Congress taking America down a path that will lead to another revolution? Could the proposed 40% "Cadillac" Tax on private insurance policies that are deemed "too good" be the new Stamp Act?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It may not be as crazy as it sounds. The American Colonists used rallying cries such as &lt;em&gt;"No taxation without representation."&lt;/em&gt;&amp;nbsp; Today, Congressmen such as Baron Hill say things like, &lt;em&gt;"You are not going to tell me how to run my Congressional office"&lt;/em&gt; which in a sense is taxation without representation. Organizations such as Tea Party Patriots, Tea Party Nation, and The 9-12 Project are national-level groups of people organizing demonstrations and protests. Groups such as As a Mom (&lt;a href="http://www.asamom.org/"&gt;http://www.asamom.org/&lt;/a&gt;) are gaining thousands of members that have never held a sign or marched on anything. Other grass-roots organizations such as Citizens for Constitutionality Now are popping up all over the country as people are trying to find a way to stand together. People are petitioning and writing their "representatives" in Washington D.C. only to either never receive a response or receiving a response that does not suffice or reflect the constituents' views. People and groups are writing and publishing pamphlets such as &lt;em&gt;The Patriot Ledger&lt;/em&gt;, writing and creating blogs, and writing letters to newspapers just as the revolutionary era patriots did. Fortunately unlike the Sons of Liberty, today's patriotic dissenters are using lessons learned from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement by using non-violent means of protest.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This new movement in America is nothing short of patriotic and exhibits everything it means to truly be American. Washington D.C. has become a cesspool of corruption. Politicians are ignoring their constituents (i.e. Baron Hill) and allowing special-interest groups and unions such as SEIU to dictate their legislative actions. Today, like in 1700's America, people have begun to stand up for their rights and their country. Americans are speaking and working together in an attempt to hold Washington D.C. accountable for the current State of the Union. Korea vs. S. Not really the message, but the delivery.&amp;nbsp; President Obama has won the election.&amp;nbsp; Did anyone tell him?&amp;nbsp; Here he is not wearing a jacket or tie and has his sleeves rolled up like he is campaigning all over again.&amp;nbsp; He has given so many speeches that he has long ago run out of new things to say.&amp;nbsp; The way he closes this speech out with by leading a chant yelling "Are you fired up...Are you ready to go" is something I would accept and expect while on a campaign tour, but not nine months into the presidency.&amp;nbsp; What floored me is the way he leaves the stage by throwing his hand out yelling "Love You!"&amp;nbsp; Now that is something I heard on my Bob Seger album when Uncle Bob yelled out "Love You, Detroit!"&amp;nbsp; Being conservative means that you treasure family values and traditions. Republicans hold on to the values of the past, because the values and traditions of the past are those that take you into the future. Democrats have become so far to the left, and Republicans have become so far to the right. Most of America has fallen somewhere in the middle. People should be allowed to make their own decisions, practice the religion of their choice without the worry of offending someone, and people should be allowed to succeed and fail on their own without government intervention.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No matter which party went down this path to the far left / far right first, it does not help the American people. If the Democrats were so determined to go to the far left of the political spectrum, it was only a natural response the Republicans would shift their beliefs to the far right. Republicans hold on to their conservative values such as small government and responsible spending, just as Democrats hold on to the commitment of moving America farther away from capitalism and towards socialism. This results into a vast division of our two-party system.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Although most people have fallen into the middle of this separation, falling to the side of traditional conservative values is where America needs to be if we are going to get this country back on track. If more people held on to their values, families would be better. Families would stay together. The family unit is essential in the development of not only a child, but also it is essential to the development of America as well. People would be going to church if they held on to their values. This country was founded upon Judeo-Christian beliefs, and a return to those beliefs is crucial for the reformation of America. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Far right Republicans want to hold on to the values upon which our country was founded. Hard work, taking care of those we love, honoring and worshiping God, and trying to better ourselves are the values of our Founders and early Americans. The Founders and early Americans believed and practiced these values and beliefs. They worked hard from dawn until dusk, together as families and communities. They ate meals together. They took on problems, trials, and tribulations together. They took their problems head-on, never running from them. Look at the Revolutionary War and the Civil War as examples of people holding to their beliefs and standing together with their families and communities. America's Past," will see the following: &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;em&gt;We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all &lt;strong&gt;people&lt;/strong&gt; are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;The text contained no visible disclaimer or brackets indicating that the wording had been changed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;Are you kidding me?&amp;nbsp; This book, "History Alive!&amp;nbsp; America's Past" is just another example along with the Progressive Propaganda Film, "The Story of Stuff" of liberals invading our schools and indoctrinating our children.&amp;nbsp; When is enough going to be enough?&amp;nbsp; Parents need to make a stand and tell these textbook companies along with the left-laden school systems they need to teach history without a spin on the matieral and allow the children to form their own opinions about our past.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;TCI also produced the textbook "History Alive!&amp;nbsp; The Medieval World and Beyond."&amp;nbsp; This book completely left out any idea or mention of violence associated with Islamic jihad.&amp;nbsp; Here is the quote from the book:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;em&gt;Jihad is defined as a struggle within each individual to overcome difficulties and strive to please god. Sometimes it may be a physical struggle for protection against enemies...Muslims should fulfill jihad with the heart, tongue and hand. Muslims use the heart in their struggle to resist evil&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;Yeah, kind of left out that when radical Isamic Muslims plan and carry out a jihad, they crash planes into buildings or blow themselves up in a crowded place.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is out of control and needs to be stopped.&amp;nbsp; defines "representative" as the following:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;Representative:&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;–noun &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;1. a person or thing that &lt;strong&gt;represents another or others&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;2. an &lt;strong&gt;agent &lt;/strong&gt;or deputy: a legal representative. &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;3. a person who represents a &lt;strong&gt;constituency or community&lt;/strong&gt; in a legislative body, esp. a member of the U.S. House of Representatives or a lower house in certain state legislatures. &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay, I have put this article off for a while, but I am sure many of you have seen or heard of our illustrious Baron Hill (9th District Indiana Representative-D) telling his "constituents" that we are not going to tell him how to run his Congressional office.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Isn't that the whole idea of an elected legislature?&amp;nbsp; We are fighting two wars, one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. The latter has come to a critical crossroads where the on-the-ground leader has said we need more soldiers or we will lose this war. Following his request for more troops by the end of this year, General Stanley McChrystal stated he has only spoken to President Obama &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;ONCE&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; since assuming command of all forces in Afghanistan.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One conversation with the man in theater personally in charge of so many of our men and women fighting for our freedom and protection of our way of life. It should not be a surprise that President Obama will have to take considerable time to contemplate Gen. McChrystal's request for more troops because The Commander in Chief has no clue what is going on in Afghanistan! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;None of us really could ever understand how demanding the position of President of the United States of America really is. I cannot imagine what a whirlwind a day in the President's shoes would be like. But I would hope I would find time to squeeze in a secure webcam with my commander on the ground in Afghanistan at least once a week, because reading a daily Situation Report is no substitute for speaking to the man in charge of so many American lives on the ground in Afghanistan.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With so many crises facing America, I would feel so much better if my President was in Washington D.C. helping to fix our problems (crazy concept, I know.) Instead, President Obama has assumed "Rock Star" status and has constantly been around the country and the world giving rallying speeches. Did anyone pass him a memo that he actually won the election? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today's news of the President traveling to Europe to campaign for the Olympic Games to be held in Chicago just floored me. I mean President Obama has in his hand the request of General McChrystal that we need more troops or we're going to lose in Afghanistan, and he is jetting off to Sweden or Switzerland or wherever the I.O.C. is holding their Olympic Site Selection meeting. Just off the top of my head, I can think of a few things more important than the Olympic Games:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1. Afghanistan&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2. Iraq&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3. Health Care Reform&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4. ACORN Scandal&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;5. U.S. Budget Crisis&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;6. Economic Recession (yeah, its still going on)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;7. Iran's Recent Missile Launches&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;8. Hugo Chavez and Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi joining forces&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;9. U.S. Terrorism Plot that was Foiled (if we caught them all)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;10. Securing the U.S. Borders&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These are just a few minor issues that I believe are more important than flying to a meeting about the Olympics (well I wasn't thinking, I mean he is campaigning for Chicago.) Mr. President, we have men and women dying everyday in Afghanistan, and as an American I believe they matter more than not having a television delay for the 100m dash. Instead of flying all over the globe giving rallying speeches where you lead the audience in chants about being "Fired Up" and taking part in a Sunday morning interview blitz, could you please sit down and take a call from Gen. McChrystal? I have always respected his office, but not really any of his words or policies until today. Today, the President gave a speech at the G-20 Summit in Pittsburgh, where he, along with our allies from England and France, told Iran to comply with international inspections and international nuclear law or they were going to receive some consequences. Here is an excerpt from the speech:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;"Iran is on notice that when we meet with them on October 1 they are going to have to come clean and they are going to have to make a choice between international isolation and giving up any aspirations to becoming a nuclear power. If they refuse to give ground, they will stay on a path that is going to lead to confrontation."&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When asked about a military intervention in Iran, President Obama had this to say:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;"With respect to the military, I've always said that we do not rule out any options when it comes to U.S. security interests, but I will also re-emphasize that my preferred course of action is to resolve this in a diplomatic fashion. It's up to the Iranians to respond."&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This whole situation is eerily similar to what&amp;nbsp;led to&amp;nbsp;U.S. involvement in Iraq, and I am thankful Mr. Obama has stepped up to the plate in international affairs. Today, he was my leader. Today, he was my President for the first time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Israel has already stated they would not rule out a military strike with or without U.S. support, and honestly I pray that the United States supports their actions either way. A diplomatic solution to this problem would be great, but I do not share in the enthusiam of others when it comes to radical Islamic regimes and logic.&amp;nbsp; Iran under Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has become a rogue, terrorist-laden country that is now coming to the table with the possibility of nuclear arms. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A civilian security force? Where are they going to fall in jurisdiction, above the state police and below the National Guard? Are they going to be equals to the military? Does this not scare the living daylights out of you? Are these Obama Stormtroopers going to go door to door and take people to Sector 7 if we speak out against the President? This is frightening. If this is not a scare tactic, I don't know what one would be. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Is President Obama planning on creating a "Special Police" like the Nazi SS or the Gestapo? Are his minions going to be enforcing special laws and rules that will end up placing the opposition into the Gulag? I foresee this civilian force becoming some type of entity that Anne Applebaum speaks of in her book, &lt;em&gt;Gulag: A History (2003.)&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;"It was the branch of the State Security that operated the penal system of forced labour camps and associated detention and transit camps and prisons. While these camps housed criminals of all types, the Gulag system has become primarily known as a place for political prisoners and as a mechanism for repressing political opposition to the Soviet state."&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I believe that the U.S. Military should be offended and outraged upon the notion they are not strong enough to protect the citizens of the United States of America. I believe our military is the finest in the world and can accomplish any goal we give them as long as bureaucrats allow them to do so. They have been doing it for ten generations, all the way from Lexington and Concord to Fallujah and Kabul. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In addition to being fundamentally wrong, this idea is going to add billions to our national debt. In 2003, our military had a budget of more that $486,000,000,000. If this National Security Force is going to be "as well-funded" then that's an overnight addition of more than $486,000,000,000 to our yearly budget. How can President Obama instantly create 486 billion dollars without breaking his campaign promise of "not raising any taxes on the middle class?" &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This notion of a National Security Force is not only fiscally irresponsible, but it is also a threat to the very rights set forth in the Constitution as well. This is not a "right-wing" extremist view and attack on President Obama, any American with common sense should see this National Security Force will not be set about to protect America from threats from abroad. It will instead be made to protect the State from opposing points of view. Do not stand for this! I had the idea of America has become a place where the Government is eliminating failure. I know, people may be saying, "What's wrong with that?" A lot is wrong with that. Failure is the best motivational tool that we have as humans. With all of the Government programs that allow people to fail without repercussion&amp;nbsp;, we are allowing our government to destroy&amp;nbsp;the fundamental values of America.&amp;nbsp;When you eliminate the ability to fail, you crush the drive to succeed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Success has always been the driving factor in a capitalist society such as America. Success of the individual has driven so many great inventions, ideas, businesses, and leaders to emerge from America. I don't know when it exactly started but America has allowed the drive for success to fade away. Look at little league baseball; everyone gets a trophy. We have become so sensitive to political correctness that every single kid gets an award at the end of the little league season, even if the team had not scored a single run the entire year. What does that tell a child? I believe it tells them that it’s ok to not be the best because you still get an award for just being there.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now translate the baseball idea to government programs such as welfare and government provided housing. These two examples, like so many government programs, were wonderful ideas in theory. The theory was to allow unemployed people with families to temporarily defray living expenses while in search of a new or better job. These programs have gone from temporary to third and fourth generation recipients. These people have no drive to succeed because the government has told them it's okay to fail; we will give you "an award for just being here."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's further translate the baseball idea to government bailout programs. The government has not allowed these companies to fail, resulting in millions and billions of tax dollars to revive poorly run businesses. This tells any prominent business that there will be no repercussions for poor business practice because the government will give them "an award for just being here."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;From tee-ball to big business, America has allowed her people to stop striving for success and settle for a participation award. This movement is destroying America and her capitalist values that once made America the shining beacon to the world. The ability to fail makes achieved success even more rewarding. The risk of losing all of your money makes a person starting a small business work that much harder to achieve success. That's capitalism. That's America. Without risk, there is no reward. We need to stop giving participation trophies to our children if they don't win. We need to stop having graduation ceremonies for children when they complete each and every grade in school. We need to stop programs like Welfare from becoming a permanent source of income. We need to stop allowing Congress to bail out companies that have been run into the ground by poor business practices. Folks, we can make these changes by using our votes to actually hold Congress accountable for continuing these practices. On this 222nd anniversary of The Constitution of The United States of America, I really believe we have come so far from the republic our founding fathers envisioned. If Madison, Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin were here today and saw what we have done to their republic, they would be ashamed, and I would be ashamed.&amp;nbsp; I could not look them in the eye.&amp;nbsp;They would wonder why they even bothered to sacrifice so much to hold to their beliefs against tyranny. Because as corrupt as Washington D.C. is, &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;WE HAVE DONE NOTHING TO CHANGE IT.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The founders of this republic had more fortitude in a pinky finger than all Americans today combined. They held to their truths and told the tyrannical King George that he no longer could rule them with such oppression. They stuck to their beliefs and told England that they believed in more than a monarchy could provide. They knew that by signing their name to the Declaration of Independence, they were in a sense signing their death warrant. Many early American lives were given so that we could have this republic today. For ten generations, Americans have died, families have been decimated with loss, and brothers have fought alongside each other only to line up across from one another years later. Americans have fought in two “wars to end all wars”, along with fighting to stop the spread of communism and the threat of global terrorism. America has sacrificed her fathers, brothers, uncles, daughters, sisters, mothers, and aunts so that our way of life, our republic could stand. And what have we allowed America to become? Why have we told these patriots that their sacrifices have been in vain? Because we take our freedom for granted, and no matter how bad Washington D.C.’s corruption has become, we can always say, “&lt;em&gt;Hey, at least it’s not Somalia&lt;/em&gt;.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I spoke earlier about “what if Washington, Jefferson, Madison, and Franklin were here?” Well in many of us, these great men still live. The spirits of our founding fathers have been awakened in so many of us. Look at the march on Washington on September 12. Our founding fathers fought so hard and sacrificed so much for us. The time has come for us to fight for them and not with cannon or bayonets, but with something so powerful: our voice. Famous people like Gahndi and Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., along with everyday people like Rosa Parks showed the world how powerful a peaceful protest can be. It is the duty of every American Patriot to stand up and fight for our republic. Fight with your voice, and support your arguments with the truth. The truth is the most powerful weapon with which you can arm yourself.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Call your congressman or senator. Organize a tea party. Organize a non-violent protest of government corruption. Instead of using violence, use something that Washington D.C. fears more than any weapon; &lt;strong&gt;use your vote&lt;/strong&gt;. Ask your congressman or senator what they have specifically done to eliminate corruption in Washington D.C. Ask them how much money they have received from special-interest groups. Ask them what they have done to protect and defend the Constitution of The United States against all enemies; foreign and domestic. Tell your congressman or senator that they must not take their position lightly and with entitlement. &lt;strong&gt;Tell them they must earn your vote everyday, not just one day in November.&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/em&gt;This is one of my favorite quotes because it empowers the citizen to ask questions of his government.&amp;nbsp; It is the &lt;strong&gt;duty&lt;/strong&gt; of an American citizen to stand up and ask questions of the government.&amp;nbsp; However, because of political correctness that has run wild, questioning your government has repurcussions such as being labled a racist.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What has happened to this country?&amp;nbsp; Are you serious?&amp;nbsp; People that question President Obama's policies and decisions are being called racists by columnists, political figures, and now former President Jimmy Carter.&amp;nbsp; Since President Obama is African American, many people tread lightly now because of fear of being labled a racist.&amp;nbsp; Really?&amp;nbsp; It is my duty to ask my elected officials questions when I want answers, regardless if they are black, white, green, red, yellow, purple, blue, or autumn sunrise.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Race has nothing to do with the questions we are asking.&amp;nbsp; South Carolina Representative Joe Wilson (R) has been labled a racist because he shouted "You lie!" when President Obama falsely presented some facts about illegal immigrants receiving health care.&amp;nbsp; &lt;strong&gt;How do you get "racist" from "you lie"?&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; I do not understand it.&amp;nbsp; This White House administration now has now begun using race as a tool to push Obama's wild agendas through.&amp;nbsp; How is this possible?&amp;nbsp; The Obama administration controls the media, don't believe me?&amp;nbsp; ABC's Charlie Gibson actually said&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt; he knew nothing of the ACORN tapes.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; Watch NBC for a day and compare their news coverage to CNN or FOX News.&amp;nbsp; NBC truly is &lt;em&gt;"Obama's Pet Peacock."&lt;/em&gt;&amp;nbsp; NBC aired former President Jimmy Carter's outlandish remarks, but did not air any of Van Jones' ridiculous remarks about whites poisoning black neighborhoods.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Race has nothing to do with the fact this administration has kept spending and spending and spending.&amp;nbsp; Race is no factor in questioning to number of radical Czars President Obama has selected.&amp;nbsp; Race is no issue in the fact that President Obama has surrounded himself and is enthralled in the corruption of organizations such as SEIU and ACORN.&amp;nbsp; Race is not the issue that President Obama and his administration is ramming huge bill after huge bill through congress as fast as he can (Cap and Trade, Cash for Clunkers, Stimulus Package...etc.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The point is do not blame the outrage on racism.&amp;nbsp; Unless you have been watching FOX News or catching CNN at the right moment, you may have no idea about these undercover tapes showing &lt;strong&gt;ACORN workers helping two journalists posed as a pimp and prostitute obtain housing for an underage sex brothel.&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You may find these undercover tapes, which show three different ACORN offices located in Maryland, Washington D.C., and New York, all at &lt;a href="http://www.biggovernment.com/"&gt;Big Government's Website&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Please go now, and watch the undercover tapes, then come back to this website.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now that you have come back, I want you to think about how many millions of dollars ACORN has received from us, the American taxpayers. It’s disgusting. What is even more disgusting is ACORN is just one group that President Obama has surrounded himself with. So now we have communists, radical Marxists, people that believe dogs and cats should have the ability to bring legal actions, AND NOW: people that want to help set up underage sex operations. I want each of you to contact the various mainstream media outlets below and ask them why they have not covered the undercover ACORN videos beyond a five or ten second spotlight. As I watched the different media presentations recalling the events of that day, I was thrust back into the feeling of helplessness as I watched the planes hit the towers and the aftermath that followed. I will admit, I cried like a ten year old girl as I watched the terror in people's faces running out of those buildings. I still get overwhelmed with emotion whenever I try and speak about that terrible day. Even now as I write this article, I find myself fighting back tears.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One image that really struck me was the numerous pictures of people deciding to leap to their death from the World Trade Centers. I tried to imagine how terrible life must be at a moment when jumping from ninety-plus stories is a logical solution to a problem. I also tried to put myself in their shoes, and I don't know if I could have that kind of courage. I saw their acts as the great last act of defiance, deciding if they were going to die; it would be on their terms, not the terrorists' terms. Wow.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then I reflected on the images of people running away from the towers and gathering to look up once they reached an area of safety. And as all these people were running out, I saw the brave firefighters and police officers running into these burning buildings, not knowing it would be their last act of service. I didn't see black, white, Asian, Arab, rich, poor, homeless, Catholic, Christian, Jew, Muslim...etc. I saw people; moreover, I saw Americans.&amp;nbsp;There were businessmen in three-piece suits holding and comforting people with holes in their tee shirts and wearing trucker's caps. I saw America at its finest in the darkest chapter of our history.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have always said that the days that followed 9/11/01 were some of the greatest days in America that I have ever experienced. Glenn Beck's The 9-12 Project almost took the thoughts and ideas right out of my head. When I heard him explain how America forgot our divisions of class, race, sex, religion, and political affiliation, it was right in tune to what I have always thought.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So how do we get back to those days following 9/11? I don't know. If I had all the answers, I wouldn't be sitting in front of a computer writing these articles. One thing I believe, myself included, is people need to get back to their churches. Following 9/11/01, churches were overwhelmed with attendance. I am Catholic, and I remember that Sunday, 9/16/01, there was standing room only and it wasn't Christmas or Easter. I believe that this country needs to get back to the Judeo-Christian ideology it was founded upon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Just going to church on Sunday isn't going to solve our problems. It’s a great start, but more will need to be done. I have always said that the 167 hours a week outside of church matter more than the one hour of worship. We need to eliminate the division that so strongly separates this country. I am talking about all divisions. The political system we are in now is so far from the founding fathers' ideas and plan for this country that I don't think Franklin, Jefferson, Madison, and Washington would recognize America today. Republicans and Democrats are both equally corrupt and in bed with so many special interest groups that anyone that even tries to run for an office that doesn't "drink the kool-aid" from either side of the isle will be trampled out before their message can even be delivered. The media has become so partisan, on both sides, that anyone going against the "Big Two Parties" cannot even afford the air time to deliver their message, let alone be covered by the media.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So what do we do? It is counter-productive to speak of a problem without presenting ideas to solve the problem. I do not know exactly what to do or where to start. I think the grass-roots approach taken by the Tea Parties and The 9-12 Project is a great start, and it is going to take more word-of-mouth campaigns and small community organizations to spread the ideas of getting rid of the corruption because the mainstream media is not going to cover the movement. So, I ask you please, if you are reading this article, tell a friend about this website. Tell them to tell a friend. Tell them we need to get back to running this country by The Constitution. It is imperative that you call your Senator’s office tonight and tell them to &lt;strong&gt;“Pass on Cass”&lt;/strong&gt; by voting to not confirm him.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why do you ask that it is so important that Sunstein is not confirmed? The man wants animals to have the right to legal counsel and be able to bring suit against humans. That’s right, Sunstein wants &lt;em&gt;Spot the dog to have his day in court.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In addition to the lawyers for animals program, Sunstein also wants to change the implied consent from not being an organ donor to being an organ donor. Simply explained, even if your driver’s license indicates you are not a donor, and you have not made your wishes clear to your next of kin, then it will be implied that your organs will be harvested. Now I support organ donation, but even more important, I support the &lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;CHOICE&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt; to be an organ donor.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Still not enough to sway your opinion on Cass Sunstein? Along with his radical ideas comes his opinion that it should be illegal to remove rodents and pests from your home if the method causes them to suffer. That’s right. If your mousetrap is deemed inhumane, you could &lt;em&gt;possibly be charged with a crime.&lt;/em&gt; Sunstein also wishes that hunting for reasons other than sport should be banned because he is against the &lt;em&gt;consumption of meat.&lt;/em&gt; Many of you share my views that our Constitution is being threatened by this administration in Washington. Rights such as our Freedom of Speech, for example, may be under attack by top-level advisors (or Czars as I like to call them) such as Mark Lloyd (Do your homework, you will see what I am talking about). Rights such as the Freedom of Speech are fundamental in what it means to be American. What I cannot understand is the fact so many of us, myself included, are just sitting here in our homes enjoying our quiet life while the Obama Administration consistently attempts to “change” America and the fundamental ideas of this great country.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I can already hear you right now saying to yourself, “But I’m just one person. What can I do?” Let me shed a little insight into how much just one person can do when he or she decides to stand up for their beliefs against common perception or their mighty governments. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;What if Charles Lindbergh had said, “You know, everyone is right. I cannot fly across the Atlantic. Its too dangerous.” &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;What about Copernicus thinking, “Regardless of what I have seen, everyone else must be right. I guess the Earth is the center of the universe.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Imagine if Patrick Henry would have said, “Despite all the aggression and excessive taxes from England, I must say that there is too much to risk at war against them. Give me oppression as long as I have my life.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;What about Susan B. Anthony thinking, “I want to vote, but since everyone is against it, I should probably be quiet and return to the kitchen.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;What if Ghandi had decided, “Forget this, I’m just one person and its time to grab a snack.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;My point here is you may be just one person, but so were the above examples. When you decide to make your stand, who knows, there may be a thousand people to stand with you. Then again, you could be alone. That’s the risk associated with being a true believer in something. I am a true believer in the Constitution of the United States of America. I am a believer that the people whom are elected should be in Washington to serve the ones that elected them. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“So what can I do?” you may be asking right now. Let’s start by writing or calling your elected official. If you need help in finding your official’s contact information, you can start by searching &lt;a href="http://www.whitehouse.gov/"&gt;http://www.whitehouse.gov/&lt;/a&gt; and searching wither the House of Representatives or the Senate from that web page. Ask them questions about the unchecked power of President Barack Hussein Obama’s Czars. I want each of you to write one letter to your congressman or congresswoman and then forward both your letter and the response you get back to me at &lt;a href="mailto:jasonhigdon@cfcnow.org"&gt;jasonhigdon@cfcnow.org&lt;/a&gt;. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I leave you with this thought. We have stood our ground and told this administration that we will not stand for a self avowed communist, radical, defender of a cop killer to be appointed to position of such power. Representative Mike Pence (R-IN) and Senator Kit Bond (R-MO), along with numerous other public figures and citizens publically called for former Green Jobs Czar Van Jones to resign. Now Van Jones has resigned (quietly on a Sunday morning of a holiday weekend) as a result of all the pressure put on him by true American Patriots fighting for our rights and our Constitution.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Van Jones had this to say upon his resignation:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me. They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide. I have been inundated with calls -- from across the political spectrum -- urging me to 'stay and fight.' But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future."&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mr. Jones, we are not using lies and distortions to distract and divide, people have brought to light your &lt;strong&gt;OWN WORDS&lt;/strong&gt; from your radical speeches, books, videos, and organizations. The only person to blame for your alleged smear campaign is &lt;strong&gt;you&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I would like to personally thank talk show host Glenn Beck for bringing Van Jones' radical political ideology to the public and wish Glenn luck on further opening America's eyes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now it should be obvious "we the people" still hold some power in America. I empower each of you to write your senator, representative, and the White House and ask them questions about the Czars that President Obama has assembled. Do some research on these Czars, and forward your results to your congressman or congresswoman. That 19 of America's largest banks would be forced to undergo stress tests by the federal government which would determine if they were insufficiently capitalized, so they must be supervised by the government?&lt;br /&gt;Would you have said, &lt;strong&gt;"C'mon, that will never happen in America ."&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2.&lt;/strong&gt; What if I had told you that within Barack Obama's first 100 days in office the federal government would be the largest shareholder in the 2 of the US Big-Three automakers: GM, and Chrysler? That the government would fire the CEO's of these companies and appoint hand-picked executives with zero experience in the auto industry and that executive compensation would be determined, not by a Board of Directors, but by the government?&lt;br /&gt;Would you have said, &lt;strong&gt;"C'mon, that will never happen in America !"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3.&lt;/strong&gt; What if I had told you that Barack Obama would appoint 33 Czars, without congressional approval, accountable only to him, not to the voters, who would have control over a wide range of US policy decisions. That there would be a Stimulus Accountability Czar, an Urban Czar, a Compensation Czar, an Iran Czar, an Auto Industry Czar, a Cyber Security Czar, an Energy Czar, a Bank Bailout Czar, and more than a dozen other government bureaucrats with unchecked regulatory powers over US domestic and foreign policy.&lt;br /&gt;Would you have said, &lt;strong&gt;"C'mon, that will never happen in America !"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4.&lt;/strong&gt; What if I had told you that the federal deficit would be $915 billion in the first six months of the Obama presidency - with a projected annual deficit of $1.75 trillion - triple the $454.8 billion in 2008, for which the previous administration was highly criticized by Obama and his fellow Democrats. That congress would pass Obama's $3.53 trillion federal budget for fiscal 2010... That the projected deficit over the next ten years would be greater than $10 trillion.&lt;br /&gt;Would you have said, &lt;strong&gt;"C'mon, that will never happen in America !"&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;5.&lt;/strong&gt; What if I had told you that the Obama Justice Department would order FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high-value detainees captured on the battlefield and held at US military detention facilities in Afghanistan . That Obama would order the closing of the Guantanamo detention facility with no plan for the disposition of the 200-plus individuals held there. That several of the suspected terrorists at Guantanamo would be sent to live in freedom in Bermuda at the expense of the US government. That our returning US veterans would be labeled terrorists and put on a watch list.&lt;br /&gt;Would you have said, &lt;strong&gt;"C'mon, that will never happen in America !"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;6.&lt;/strong&gt; What if I had told you that the federal government would seek powers to seize key companies whose failures could jeopardize the financial system. That a new regulatory agency would be proposed by Obama to control loans, credit cards, mortgage-backed securities, and other financial products offered to the public.&lt;br /&gt;Would you have said, &lt;strong&gt;"C'mon, that will never happen in America !!"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;7.&lt;/strong&gt; What if I had told you that Obama would travel to the Middle East, bow before the Saudi king, and repeatedly apologize for America 's past actions. That he would travel to Latin America where he would warmly greet Venezuela 's strongman Hugo Chavez and sit passively in the audience while Nicaraguan Marxist thug Daniel Ortega charged America with terrorist aggression in Central America .&lt;br /&gt;Would you have said, &lt;strong&gt;"C'mon, that will never happen in America !!"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;8.&lt;/strong&gt; Okay, now what if I were to tell you that Obama wants to dismantle conservative talk radio through the imposition of a new "Fairness Doctrine." That he wants to curtail the First Amendment rights of those who may disagree with his policies via Internet blogs, cable news networks, or advocacy ads. That most major network television and most newspapers will only sing his phrases like state-run media in communist countries?&lt;br /&gt;Would you say, &lt;strong&gt;"C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;9.&lt;/strong&gt; What if I were to tell you that the Obama Justice Department is doing everything it can to limit your Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. That the federal government wants to reinstate the so-called assault weapons ban which would prohibit the sale of any type of firearm that doesn't require the shooter to pull the trigger every time a round is fired. That Obama's Attorney General wants to eliminate the sale of virtually all handguns and ammunition, which most citizens choose for self-defense.&lt;br /&gt;Would you say, &lt;strong&gt;"C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;10.&lt;/strong&gt; What if I were to tell you that the Obama plan is to eliminate states rights guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment and give the federal government sweeping new powers over policies currently under the province of local and state governments and voted on by the people. That Obama plans to control the schools, energy production, the environment, health care, and the wealth of every US citizen.&lt;br /&gt;Would you say, &lt;strong&gt;"C'mon, that will never happen in America !"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;11.&lt;/strong&gt; What if I were to tell you that the president, the courts, and the federal government have ignored the US Constitution and have seized powers which the founders of our country fought to restrict. That our last presidential election may have been our last truly free election for some time to come. That our next presidential election may look similar to the one recently held in Iran ..
